The synergies between AWF and The OU were identified, June 13th 2013 between Ash Smith, Chris Vidal, Steve Hill (Commercial Director, The OU) and Ian Howell (Global Business Director, The OU)
An overwhelming demand for distance learning opportunities have been presented by athletes to AWF, with The OU providing a global solution. With many amateur and professional athletes worldwide seeking diverse and flexible learning opportunities, AWF identified The OU as a global solution.
AWF President, Chris Vidal commented “As an alumni of The OU, and as a former student athlete it, I understand the requirements of an elite athlete. On behalf of, and in particularly on a personal note, it brings great pleasure to form this alliance. AWF looks forward to providing diverse learning opportunities to amateur and professional athletes worldwide”.
The OU boasts many existing success stories of high-profile and amateur athletes alike, who have benefited from The OU programs. With so many athletes worldwide, having a strong desire to compete at the professional level, the competition for places at the top are limited. The OU are aware of the pressures that athletes face to succeed at the top and understand the awareness that can be drawn to their CSR activities through a collaboration with AWF.
