Following the incredibly successful London games, the AWF board wasted little time in meeting with the British Olympic Association. Meeting with outgoing CEO, Mr. Andy Hunt the core focus was to commence dialogue surrounding the BOA’s efficient marketing channels to all UK sporting bodies.

London Uk, december 14th, british olympic association – andy hunt

The BOA have hosted arguably the most successful and inspiring Olympic Games of all time. With so much attention on them, it is a great honour to meet with Mr. Hunt. We have a well established demand for support from athletes across the UK, and the natural alignment with the BOA ACP (Athlete Career Program) is obvious. The AWF dual career pathway adds complimentary value to what is an already great programAsh Smith VP AWF

Mr. Hunt identified the importance of supporting not only those current or retiring Olympians, but importantly the ‘masses’ who have not reached the top echelon. For those on the cusp of professional or Olympic sport the process of securing funding to continue with sport is very difficult. AWF offers a wonderful opportunity for athletes from a diverse range of backgrounds and sports to partner their Eduction with Sport, implementing a true dual career pathway.AWF are scheduled to re-visit the BOA early in 2013, to continue discussions with the Athlete Career Program team. Keep up to date with development through the AWF news feed.
