Athletes World Foundation, is a non-profit foundation based in Lausanne Switzerland.
We are working to assist qualifying student-athletes by providing them dual career pathway opportunities.
Who We Are
Our dual career pathway will allow athletes the opportunity to train and compete within world class facilities, under the guidance of world class coaching against tough competition, whilst studying at top universities such as Harvard, Oxford, Berkley, UCLA or Stanford. From our knowledge, experience and past success we are able to help thousands of athletes change their lives.
We are leading the way in dual career pathways and now AWF is able to provide these opportunities to thousands of potential qualifying student athletes for free.
We have the vision and experience to help student athletes reach their goals.
Athletes World Foundation was conceptualized from a problem faced by Chris Vidal (Co-Founder) when embarking on the possibility to continue his education through sport in an American University. Despite many overwhelming challenges, Mr. Vidal acquired a sport scholarship to an American University in 2005. During his first year in university he saw the opportunity to create an online platform and service that would go on to pioneer the industry by creating Athletes USA. Having now assisted over 1000 student athletes into American universities, Athletes USA has saved student athletes and their families over $100 million on tuition fees.
The knowledge gained from placing student athletes into the American university system and personal experiences allowed Mr. Vidal to promote this opportunity to many international and national federations. In June 2012, Ash Smith (Co-Founder) collaborated with Mr Vidal to raise awareness of the importance of education through sport on a global level. After months of research and meetings the pair had created and implemented a unique dual career pathway.
Our founding team has generated tremendous awareness and has selected the world-leading sports town of Lausanne, Switzerland to call home. We are perfectly positioned in Lausanne, home to the International Olympic Committee, Sport Accord and over 50 international sports federations.
